Iran, UAE to Broaden Oil/Gas Cooperation

TEHRAN April 15 (Shana)--Foreign ministers of Iran and the United Arab Emirates have called for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sectors.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Emirati counterpart presided over the second session of Iran-UAE Joint Economic Committee in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Representatives from the Iranian and Emirati private sectors were also present in the meeting.

Zarif and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan signed eight memoranda of understanding after the end of the meeting.

They agreed to prepare documents for demarcation at Iran-UAE maritime border in the Sea of Oman.

They also agreed to cooperate in the fields of environmental issues, renewable energies, oil, gas and petrochemical resources, transportation and tourism.
