Setting up Sarakhs Petrochemical Plant Necessary

TEHRAN Sep. 9 (Shana)--Iranian minister of petroleum Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has said he will firmly pursue construction of Sarakhs petrochemical complex.

Speaking in the Sarakhs local council, Zanganeh said unemployment and recession were two main economic problems of the society, stating the country needs to boost investment in order to get out of recession and create jobs.
He called sanctions as mischief by the enemies on the country, noting the government will do its best to put behind recession.
He further noted that access to Central Asia, being located near the big market of Mashhad city and the presence of a special economic zone in the region with great potentials for implementation of large projects are among the unique characteristics of Sarkhs city, located  far northeast of the country in Khorasan Razavi province.
I will personally pursue setting up the Sarakhs petrochemical complex, a project that can create jobs for 40 to 50 thousand people, Zanganeh said.
Petroleum Minister and a number of cabinet members traveled to Khorasan Razavi province along with President Hassan Rouhani who arrived in the provincial capital of Mashhad on Saturday to hold the cabinet meeting there and inaugurate a number of projects.
