Iran President Heading to Tajikistan

TEHRAN Sep. 10 (Shana)--Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has left for Tajikistan where he is to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, Rouhani left for the Tajik capital after a two-day visit to Kazakhstan.
Iran, Afghanistan, India, Mongolia and Pakistan have an observer status in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental organization that was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Last year, the SCO summit was held in the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek, bringing together heads of both member and observer states.
