Refinery to Double Processing Capacity

TEHRAN Dec 16 (Shana)--Fajr Jam Refinery is expected to double its gas treatment capacity to 50 mcm in three years, a deputy head of the refinery said.

Hossein Shamshiri said the refinery would receive its gas from the giant South Pars gas field which is under development.

He said that the facility is currently receiving 25 mcm of dry sour gas from South Pars, adding that this gas is mixed with gas supplied from Naar and Kangan wells.

Shamshiri said the refinery’s treatment structure has to be redesigned to be able to process sour gas.
