Drilling in Phase 14 of South Pars at 46%

TEHRAN Dec 19 (Shana)--Drilling operations in Phase 14 of the giant offshore South Pars gas field have progressed 46 percent, the director of drilling for this phase said.

Hamid-Reza Shafiei said 22 wells are being spudded in platforms A and C.

The drilling project is under way within the framework of a contract signed between National Iranian Drilling Company and Pars Oil and Gas Company.

The turnkey project requires NIDC to supply rigs, drilling, engineering and geological materials as well as technical services.

Phase 14 of South Pars is under development for the production of 56.5 mcm/d of sour gas and 75,000 b/d of gas condensate. This phase is also expected to produce more than one million tons a year of liquefied gas, one million tons a year of ethane and 400 tons of sulfur a day.
