Addressing a specialized conference on the 50th anniversary of establishment of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), the NPC’s veteran Hosainali Hejazizadeh said: "There is no doubt that petrochemical sector is the superior industry in the country and with regard to this valuable precedence it is expected to assume a bigger role in economic development of the country."
He said petrochemical plants of the country are involved in production of various petrochemical products which has laid the groundwork for not only meeting domestic needs but strong presence in the world markets as well.
As the member of the NPC’s first board of directors, he said existence of huge gas reserves in the country including South Pars gas field could ensure sustainable delivery of feedstock to petrochemical plants and make help to boosting production capacity of petrochemicals on schedule.
Petrochemical industry not only can create jobs in the country but can generate value-added as well, Hosainali Hejazizadeh noted.
