NIOPDC Extending Euro-4 Gasoline Distribution

TEHRAN March 14(Shana)--Distribution of euro-4 gasoline will be extended to 2 new mega cities during the first quarter of next Iranian calendar year, beginning March 21.

Managing director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Naser Sajjadi made the remarks adding distribution of euro-4 gasoline has already started in 6 mega cities of the country.

Under the administration legislations, Petroleum Ministry has been tasked with extending distribution of euro-4 gasoline to 8 mega cities, he said.

According to him, launching production of euro-4 gasoline at Abadan Oil refinery will pave the way for distribution of the product in Ahvaz and Shiraz in next three months.

While the country is just one week away from the beginning of new Iranian calendar year, NIOPDC’s managing director said so far this year 81.012 billion liters of oil products have been consumed in the country, down 7.5 percent against similar period last year.

He noted that while gasoline and liquefied gas consumption rose this year by 1.6 and 2 percent respectively, kerosene, gasoil and fuel oil consumption decreased respectively by 17, 4.6 and 17 percent year on year.

Elsewhere in his remarks he said oil storage capacity of the country rose by 550 million liters over the first six months of current year while another 530 million liters of storage capacity will be launched before the year-end on March 21.
