Iran Ready to Boost Petchem Cooperation with Kazakhstan

TEHRAN, Feb. 08 (Shana) -- Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said Iran and Kazakhstan have signed several deals in recent years which could not be implemented by the sanctions, voicing Iran's readiness to enhance cooperation with Astana in petrochemical grounds

"Iran and Kazakhstan signed several MoUs in different fields including construction of an oil pipeline to link the country to the Sea of Oman in recent years and reached good understanding in petrochemical industry but the sanctions hampered their implementation," said Nematzadeh addressing Iran-Kazakhstan Trade and Investment Seminar in Tehran on Sunday.

He said the presence of such a large delegation from Kazakhstan is an indication of vast potentialities for cooperation between the two countries in different areas. 

The Iranian official said Tehran-Astana trade has always been good, he said, adding that Iran can link Kazakhstan to high seas given its strategic situation.
