IOOC Uses Solar Energy for Heating Water in Siri

TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (Shana) -- Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has launched a new housing complex in the Persian Gulf island of Siri where all the water is heat by solar power.

The aims is to optimize energy use in the complex. 

The 160-unit complex was officially inaugurated earlier this week. The project was constructed by Iranian developers and is built based on the latest housing standards and engineering techniques. 

Comprising of 7 buildings with 32 rooms and 16 buildings with 16 bedrooms, the units are fully furnished and are constructed in 31,000 square meters of land in Siri Island. 

This is the first time that solar power has been used for heating water in IOOC complexes.
