Phase 14 Drillings 61% Complete

TEHRAN, May 30 (Shana) – Drilling operations at Phase 14 of the supergiant South Pars gas field are 61% complete and 22 wells of the phase will become ready for production by the end of the current calendar year to March 20.

Deputy managing director of National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) said the wells are spudded at platforms A and C of the phase and consist of 2 appraisal and 20 development wells.

Mohammad Reza Takayedi said drilling operations at platform C of the phase are 88% complete and drilling of all the wells of the platform will be complete before July 2016. 

He also said drillings at platform A are 60% complete and 44,046 meters have been spudded in the platform.

Together, 88,563 meters have been drilled in the offshore phase so far, Takayedi added.

Phase 14 is under development for the production of 56.5 mcm/d of sour gas, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, one million tons a year of liquefied gas, one million tons a year of ethane and 400 tons a day of sulfur.

A consortium of Iran’s Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co (ISOICO) and IOEC are in charge of Phase 14.
