Petchem Plant Breaks Production Record

TEHRAN, June 29 (Shana) -- Nouri Petrochemical Plant set a new production record by processing 1.3 million tons of products in the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.

The plant, located in Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Assalouyeh, south of Iran, produced petrochemicals at 115% of its nameplate capacity which is unprecedented in the past 10 years.

It also exported 831,000 tons of products valued at $356m during the period. 

It also sold 447,000 tons of products on the domestic market which fetched the company some IRR5,500b. 

Nouri Petrochemical Plant is one of the world's biggest producers of aromatics with a nameplate capacity of 4.5 million tons per year. 

It is considered as a major supplier of aromatic products in the Middle East and Iran.
