SPGC Refinery Nearly Doubles Butane Export in Q1

TEHRAN, July 13 (Shana) – The butane output of the 5th refinery facility of South Pars Gas Complex rose 98% in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20 year-on-year.

Director of the facility told Shana that the refinery processed 7.5 million barrels of gas condensate, and 289,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas including butane and propane during the period.

Iraj Khorramdel said the refinery also processed 5.2 bcm of natural gas for injection in the national gas trunklines in the same period.

The facility also produced 13,500 tons of graded sulfur in the three month's period, up 58% year-over-year.

The facility also supplies 220,000 tons of ethane to petrochemical facilities during the period, up 7.3% year-on-year, added Khorramdel.
