Euro-4 Gas in 7 More Cities

TEHRAN, Aug 21 (Shana) – An official said Euro-4 gasoline will be distributed in 7 more cities in Iran, adding 22 million liters of petrol is being distributed in Iranian cities on a daily basis.

Speaking to Shana, Deputy Head of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Shahrokh Khosravani underlined the Rouhani Administration's performance in refining and distribution of petroleum products over the course of the past three years, saying Euro-4 petrol is currently being distributed in 8 major cities in Iran.

He also said plans are under way to initiate distribution of the product in 7 other cities in the near future.

The official also said that NIORDC has also plans to promote the quality of gas produced in Iranian refineries, saying Abadan Refinery, for example, is being renovated and will become operational in the second half of the current year.

Once operational, the project will dramatically reduce the fuel oil output of the refinery, he said.

He also said similar projects are on the go in 4 other refineries which will reduce their fuel oil output to less than 10% of their total production.

Referring to Isfahan Refinery, he said the facility's total petrol output will mean Euro-4 standards, and its gasoil output will reach Euro-4 standards by the next two years.

He stressed the biggest refinery achievement of the administration as boosting production of Euro-4 fuels and export of petroleum products.

Iran is currently exporting 13 million liters of gasoil per day which can increase to 20 ml/d, he added.
