President: 1.23m bpd Oil Exported

TEHRAN, Aug 25 (Shana) – President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that Iran now exports as much as 1,230,000 bpd and 2,579,000 bpd gas condensates.

President Rouhani made the remark in a meeting with Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on the occasion of Government Week (August 23-29), which marks the martyrdom anniversary of former President Mohammad-Ali Rajaie and Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahanor in a terrorist bombing, sponsored by the terrorist Mujahideen Khalq Organization (MKO).

President Rouhani said Iran’s oil production rose to 3,850,000 bpd from 2,700,000 bpd and such a success in the rise in export of oil was gained in the course of three years since the Iranian year of 1392 (2013-14), when Government of Hope and Prudence took office.

The president hoped for economic growth rate of five percent in the current Iranian calendar year of 1395 (started on March 20).

Underlining importance of the Economy of Resistance, President Rouhani said economic stabilization was the major achievement of his government in three years.

Referring to 15.5 percent growth in the agriculture sector, Rouhani pointed out that Iran has achieved self-sufficiency in wheat production and wheat reserves reached 14 million tons, unprecedented in the history of country.

The president further noted that some 457 kilometers of railways have been built since the government took office three years ago and construction of 700 kilometers of railway is currently underway.

Some 2,500 knowledge-based companies are operating in the country, which have generated 40,000 jobs, he said.

Describing unemployment as the main problem facing the government, president said that solving the problem completely requires generating one million jobs a year.

Government's debts to banks, shortage of water resources, environmental challenges, in appropriate productivity, lack of balance in budget resources and spending and decline in oil revenues and income resources are among the other problems that Rouhani mentioned.

During the meeting, First Vice-President Es'haq Jahangiri, Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh, Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei and Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi and Vice-President and Head of Management and Planning Organization Mohammad Baqer Nobakht presented reports to the Supreme Leader on the government's endeavors in various fields.
