NISOC Mulls 3.03mbd Output by mid-2017

Tehran, Aug 30 (Shana) -- National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) says the company is planning to bring its crude oil production to slightly over 3 million barrels per day by March 2017, end of the current Iranian calendar year.

Addressing a meeting with NISOC board of directors in the presence of Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh on Monday, Bijan Alipour, managing director of the company, said previous plans for production rise of the company put NISOC's output at 3.011mbd but the company is ready to bring it to 3.03mbd by the end of the calendar year.

NISOC accounts for more than 80% of Iran's total crude oil production that is currently at 3.85mbd.

The company is presently producing nearly 3 mcd at a constant manner.

A part of the rise has come from operation of a desalination plant which came on line in the past few months.
