Iran, Turkmenistan to Cooperate to Achieve Common Gas Market

TEHRAN, Sept 28 (Shana) – Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Gas Affairs Hamid-Reza Araqi says Iran and Turkmenistan will cooperate to access common gas market.

"Access to the common gas market is on agenda of Iran-Turkmenistan cooperation," said Araqi in an address to the HSE seminar at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

Araqi said cooperation between Tehran and Ashghabat to access common gas market was put on agenda during his visit to Turkmenistan over the past days.

He said during a meeting, Turkmen minister of foreign affairs was informed of Iran's readiness for cooperation in gas.

"Due to its strategic geography and enjoying giant gas reserves, Iran's cooperation with its neighbors in gas exports and swap is possible," he added.
