Boyeri said the platform 18B was installed in Iranian month of Mordad (July-August) and it was operational at a time when such a record in hookup operation has been unprecedented. “Operation of the South Pars platforms have been unprecedented.”
The operator said for the time being operations to fix spuls of the 18 inch pipelines between platforms 18A and 18B is underway and once the operations are over and the hydro-test of the pipeline is well done, the gas produced in the satellite platform will be sent to platform 18A and then will be transferred to refining facilities of phases 17 and 18.
Based on the Pars Oil and Gas Company report, the satellite platform 18B was made by technicians at Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co (ISOICO) at Bandar Abbas industrial yard.
The platform 17B is the second and last platform of the phases 17 and 18 of South Pars, being loaded in Bandar Abbas Yard on Tuesday after construction operation and is ready to be transferred to the offshore position of the phases.
Once platform 17B of South Pars is operational, the production chain of phases 17 and 18 of South Pars will be completed.
Part of the phases 17 and 18 of South Pars were put into operational in January 2014 and now 37 million cubic meters gas and 40,000 barrels of gas condensates are daily extracted from the phases.
Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company Mohammad Meshkinfam put the value of products yielded by phases 17 and 18 of South Pars by September 21 at more than two billion dollars.
