No Feedstock Shortage for Petchem Plants in Winter

TEHRAN, Nov. 22 (Shana) -- A senior petrochemical official said given the rise of gas production in the country over the past 12 months, there will be no shortage for feedstock supply of petrochemical plants during winter.

Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC), has said despite the raised output, certain limitations on the way of feedstock delivery to some petrochemical plants will result in a temporary drop in their production during the cold.

Iranian petrochemical plants supplied over 3.81 million tons of products in the month of Mehr (September 22-October 21), of which 1.12 million tons was sold on the domestic markets and some 1.5 million tons were exported.

Moreover, sale of petrochemicals fetched the country some $1.32b during the month.

Urmea, Shiraz, Regal, Bistoun and Fanavaran were the most productive plants during the month.

Iran has produced over 28.7 million tons of petrochemicals in the first 7 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.
