No Fuel Price Rise Next Year

TEHRAN, Dec. 07 (Shana) – Iran has not considered a price rise for petrol and gasoil in the next national budget bill, a senior official said.

Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company (NIOPRDC) Abbas Kazemi has said the next year national budget bill has not envisioned a rise in the prices of petrol and gasoil in Iran. 

Speaking on the sidelines of an international conference on CNG and alternative fuels, the official told Shana, "Like previous years, 5% of fuel revenues will be spent for refinery and pipeline projects in the country next year." 

He further said once phase II of Abadan Refinery comes on-stream, it will be fed by 360,000 barrels of crude oil to produce Euro-5 products. 

Development of Abadan Refinery, the oldest refinery in Iran with over a century history, is defined in 3 phases. In the first phase, capacity of its distillation unit increased from 130,000 to 180,000 b/d has been launched

Phase II is aimed at stabilizing the refinery's current capacity and promotion of its products.
