Drilling of Two Other Wells in Azadegan to Kick off

TEHRAN (PIN) - To keep with field development plan, drilling of Azadegan number 20 and 21 oil wells has been kicked off.

According to PIN, this phase is to be carried out after finishing drilling of 8 wells in previous phase.

Engineering Deputy of National Iranian South Oilfields Company announced: Oil well number 18 drilling processes has been finished and excavating process of oil well number 19 is in progress.

Previous to this plan, early exploitation of Azadegan Oilfield kicked off in 2007. Its production rate was 20,000 barrels a day at the beginning. Developing the first phase of development, NISOC planned to increase the field production to 30,000 barrels a day.

Toward putting this phase into operation, 5 oil wells were drilled in 2008 and completion of 3 other oil wells started in this year. Oil well number 18 was the last one.

Preserving the environment and to decrease excavation negative environmental impacts in Azadegan Oil field, waste material management system has been installed on oil rigs.
