According to PIN, establishing new petrochemical complexes along with developing the current ones, it is predicted that total petrochemical products will reach 38.9 million tons in this year.
Production and exportation indicators in last four years
Taking a close look at production indicators in last four years reveals that petrochemical production has reached 26.523 mln tons in 2008 - it was 15.7 mln t in 2005.
Petrochemical products exportation shows exportation rate was 5.22 mln t, 6.04 mln t, 8.161 mln t and 10.622 t in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively. This shows the oil ministry could realize 87.35, 91.21, 84.8 and 89.5 percentage of its goals in exportation section in the last four years. Exportation income also showed 28.4% growth - it was $2323 mln in 2005 and it reached $69.979 mln in 2008.
Iran to invade international market
Based on the country next 20 year development plan, Iran petrochemical production accounted for 25.3% of Middle East petrochemical production in 2008 - it was 16.2% in 2005.
Iran also specified a share of 2.14% of petrochemical products in international market to itself - it was 1.08% in 2005. This shows 9.7% growth in these four years.
Investment in Petrochemical industry
Domestic Investment in petrochemical products in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 was 8743 mlm, 15,852 mln, 9,314 mln and 12,352 mln rials respectively.
Foreign investment – finance - in petrochemical industry in the same period was $1.486.000, $972 mln, $1,019,000 and $1,094,000 respectively since 2005 to 2008.
Contracting domestic companies and importing the required technology for constructing industry most need equipments, National Iranian Petrochemical Company has been economized 440 billion rials in 2005. The company could save 1,170 billion rials in 2008.
