Petroleum minister launches Two natural gas projects

Tehran (Shana) - On the threshold of the 31st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran two major natural gas projects, with the cost of 650 million dollars, will be launched tomorrow.

The second stage of the eighth cross- country gas pipeline and a gas pressure relay station being the two projects to become operational on Thursday in an official ceremony in the presence of Masoud Mir Kazemi, the petroleum minister, and managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

The pipeline with a length of 463 kilometers and 56-inch diameter was designed to link Abar Koh to Tehran and by launching it; gas flow in the provinces of Fars, Isfahan, Qom and Tehran will be more stable.

The cost of the project, built by Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (MATN), is amounted to 5/730 billion Rials.

The first stage of the project with a length of 547 kilometers, linking Abar Koh to Parsian, has been launched earlier.

The petroleum minister also will inaugurate gas pressure relay station in the Fars province tomorrow. The station is among the ten facilities has been installed on the fourth cross-country gas pipeline of the country.
