Tehran refinery's processing capacity increases

Tehran (Shana) - Tehran refinery's light naphtha and isomerization units have had 74 percent physical progress and by completion, gasoline production capacity of the refinery will be increased by 1/5 million liters a day.

In an interview with Shana, engineer Shahrokh Khosravani, the Terhan refinery's managing director said here on Monday that It is predicted the project come on stream in mid 1989 (the Iranian year starts 21 March 2010).

Noting that Tehran refinery produces 7/5 million liters of gasoline per day, Khosravani stressed on importance of the construction of the isomerization unit and added that 70 percent of the needed equipments of the unit has been made domestically.

According to him,Tehran refinery's ninth boiler with 87 percent physical progress starts up before the end of the year (20 March 2010) and by launching it, reliability of producing needed steam for operational units increases. He said that the boiler is capable to provide the refinery steam in case of any other refinery's boilers to be out of service.

The ninth boiler also has the ability to produce about 187 tons of high-pressure steam (HPS) per hour.
