Iran plans to build 7 oil refineries

Tehran (Shana) - Iran's petroleum ministry plans to build seven new refineries in order to increase the gasoline production capacity by 110/7 million liters per day by the Iranian calendar year 1992 (2013).

According to deputy planning and supervision of hydrocarbon resources at the petroleum ministry, in case of providing necessary credit, seven oil refineries will be built by the Iranian calendar year 1992 (2013) and so the total number of the country's refineries will stand at 14.

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) has envisaged that regarding increasing gasoline consumption in the years ahead, building seven refineries can not only meet domestic needs but also paves the way for exporting oil products.

The refineries is scheduled to be built, include Persian Gulf Star and Hormoze in Bandar Abbas, Caspian in Neka in the north, Khozestan in Abadan, Pars in Shiraz, Anahita in Kermanshah and Shariar in Tabriz.
