Kish gas field contract is to sign today

Terhan (Shana) - A contract to finance and develop the Kish gas field is to sign this afternoon (6 February) in the Kish Island.

The partners of the contract include Engineering and Construction Company (MATN) on the one hand and consortia comprising domestic companies on the other.

According to the contract, Bank Mellat undertakes 40 percent of the investment in the project.

The petroleum minister, Docror Seyed Masoud Mirkazemi, a group of Majlis (parliament) energy commission members, managing dirctror of the Bank Mellat and a number of other oil industry officials will attend the signing ceremony.

The independent gas field having sweet gas, is known as the 17th biggest gas reservoir in the world and its production capacity is estimated equivalent to six phase of the giant South Pars gas field.
