Iran and Qatar to develop gas co-operations

Tehran (Shana) - Iran and Qatar stressed on necessity to draft a master plan to develop gas co operations in the region, said Iran's petroleum minister Masoud Mirkazemi here on Wednesday.

On the sideline of a meeting with Qatari energy delegation in Tehran, Mirkazemi said: Iran and its neighboring country, Qatar have huge gas reserves.

The petroleum minister noted the two sides discussed some interested issues including regional and international matters among them natural gas and LNG prices.

He remarked that Iran and Qatar intend to do more studies concerning gas exchange. According to Mirkazemi gas trade and investment were other issues on the agenda.

He remarked joint commissions are working on details of the general agreements made during the talks and their work will be continued in the future. 

Masoud Mirkazemi visited Qatari energy delegation headed by minister of state for energy and industry affairs Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada today morning in Tehran. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada is accompanied by a delegation of heads of companies engaged in the country's economy and oil and gas sectors.

Hosain Noghrekar Shirazi Iran's deputy petroleum minister for international and commercial affrairs, Ali Vakili managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company, Reza Kasaiezade managing director of National Iranian Gas Exporting Company (NIGEC) and Mahmood Zirakchianzade managing director of Offshore Oil Company were attending the meeting.
