Tehran (Shana) - The transportation and fuel management chief of staff Mohammad Royaninan says gasoline prices will not change in the first three months of the next Iranian calendar year 1389 (starting on 21 March 2010).

Mr. Royanian told during a briefing here on Thuesday that the three months quota for car owners would be 260 liters that is scheduled to be charged in their smart cards at the first day of Farvardin, the first day of Iraninan new year 1389 (21 March 2010).

He went on to say that new three month rations is 20 liters more than the current three months quota and that is for Norouz Holidays, that starts at the beginning of Iranian new year.

Noting that 1/2 billion liters of gasoline in smart cards have remained unused, Royanian said the rationed gasoline prices would remain the same in the first three months of the new year, so the price of regular gasoline would be 1000 IR Rials (about 10 cents) and super gasoline 1500 IR Rials per liter. He added that outside the rationing, the gasoline prices would be 4000 and 5400 IR Rials for regular and super.
