Responding to Shana questions, Mr. Javadi said OIEC has presented its Master Development Plan (MDP) for development of Azar oil field and while negotiations are underway, the group has had initial success to provide needed resources to develop the field.
Noting that OIEC is ready to participate in Azar oil field development, Mr. Javadi added: OIEC has presented NIOC a preliminary plan and at the same time intends to continue negotiations in order to reach an agreement to develop the field.
Having said that negotiations are underway between NIOC and three foreign oil companies and OIEC simultaneously, Roknoddin Javadi said OIEC has a better technical knowledge about Iranian fields in comparison with foreign companies.
Earlier, managing director of Oil Engineering and Development Company (MATN) had said it has inked, after confirmation by NIOC, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gazprom Neft Company to develop the field and according to MoU, the Russian company should present its plan in a three months period.
Last week, oil and gas production supervisor at the National Iranian Oil Company Bahman Soroshi in an interview with Shana said: in order to develop the field, some domestic and foreign companies, including Gazprom have presented their offers.
Assessing positive the results of the negotiations with Gazprom, Soroshi said: In order to finalizing the contract, a delegation from NIOC traveled to Moscow and the two sides could nearly finalize the development plan.
