Petrochemical exports rise by 3 percent

TEHRAN 9 Aug (Shana): Arrival of ships to Mahshahr Port increased by 5 percent while petrochemical products exports rose by 3 percent in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on 21 March) in comparison with similar period last year.

Manager of the petrochemical terminals and storages at the Mahshahr region, Ramin Mahmoodi told Shana that in the four months of the last Iranian calendar year, 1388, 1.892 million tons of petrochemical products were exported by 153 ships while 288.463 tons of petrochemical products were imported by 32 ships.

He added that In the four months of the current Iranian calendar year, 1389, the tonnage of the petrochemical exports stood at 1.924 million tons which were carried by 160 ships, while 35 ships unloaded  petrochemical cargos with 317.175 thousands tons in the port.

Noting that propane was the main exported product form the region, Ramin Mahmoodi said during the aforementioned period, 336. 758 tons of propane, produced at the Bandar Imam petrochemical complex, has been exported.

He went on to say that ammoniac ranked the second after propane, with 271.616 tons.
