Manager of wharfs at Mahshahr Petrochemical Port, Ahmad Aghajari, told Shana that the wharf, known as Seventh Wharf, that is being built by Special Economic Zone Organization, is near completion and by starting operation in the first half of the next year, the loading and unloading capacity of the port will increase to 15 million tons.
He added that six wharfs in the port allocated to loading and unloading of the liquids and one to solid materials.
Last week manager of the petrochemical terminals and storages at the Mahshahr region, Ramin Mahmoodi told Shana that in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year(started on 21 March 2010), arrival of ships to Mahshahr Port increased by 5 percent while petrochemical products exports rose by 3 percent in comparison with similar period last year.
He said that in the four months of the last Iranian calendar year, 1388, 1.892 million tons of petrochemical products were exported from the port while 288.463 tons of petrochemical products were imported.
Noting that propane was the main exported product form the region, Ramin Mahmoodi said during the mentioned period, 336. 758 tons of propane, produced at the Bandar Imam petrochemical complex, has been exported.
He added that ammoniac ranked the second biggest item after propane, with 271.616 tons.
