Azadegan oil field output stands at 5.400 million barrels

TEHRAN 18 Aug (Shana): managing director of Karoon Oil and Gas Exploitation Company (KOGEC) says 5.400 million barrels of oil have been extracted from Azadegan oil field during the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, 1389, (started on 21 March).

Enegineer Abdolmahdi Mojtahedi said the produced oil transferred to Kharg Island for export.

Mojtahedi added that up to now 24 wells have been drilled in Azadegan oil field and from 17 operating wells, 51 thousands barrels of oil is being produced each day.
 
900 square kilometers Azadegan oil field with 33 billion in place reserves is one the biggest oil fields in the world.

Production from the field started in 2007 by domestic oil experts and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) are scheduled to develop the field to increase production.
