IRANSHAHR 23 August (Shana): The seventh Iran’s gas trunk line (IGAT-7) was launched officially a few hours ago on the presence of the first vice president, Mohammad Reza Rahimi.

By launching the 907 kilometers length gas trunk line, gas supply to Iranshahr, as the first city in the province of Sistan o Balochstan, started.

The 56 inches pipeline with 1.7 billion dollars investment had been constructed by relentless efforts of the Iranian manpower and by launching it, the gas needs of the provinces of Hormozgan, Kerman and Sistan o Balochestan will be met.

Also in order to increase the capacity of the trunk line from 50 to 110 million cubic meters and providing the capabilities to export gas to Pakistan, building nine gas pressure stations have been predicted along the route.

Coincidence with the launching IGAT-7, the work on construction of the 260 kilometers length gas pipeline from Iranshahr to Zahedan has been started. The line aims to expand supplying gas to other cities of the Sistan o Baluchestan province.

IGAT-7 starts from South Pars Especial Economic Energy Zone (SPEEEZ) and by crossing provinces of Bushehr, Fars, Kerman and Hormozgan, reaches Iranchahr city in the Sistan o Balochestan province.
