Addressing at the launching ceremony of IGAT-7 in Iranshahr in Sistan o Balochestan province, southeast of Iran, the minister of petroleum said supplying gas to the city has made happy all the oil industry staff.
He expressed hope that launching IGAT-7 to compensate the delay in supplying gas to the east of the country in the near future.
According to him, based on the petroleum ministry planning, IGAT-7 will supply Sistan o Baluchestan with a daily 50 million cubic meter of gas and Pakistan and other demanding countries with 60 million cubic meters a day.
Noting that 93 percent of the cities residents and 35 percent of the rural area are benefiting gas facilities, Mirkazemi stated that gas pipeline network has expanded from 83.000 kilometers in 2004 to 177.000 this year.
On sanctions Dr. Mirkazemi said currently we are not only able to cope with sanctions but also can help other countries in oil and gas sector.
The seventh Iran’s gas trunk line (IGAT-7) was launched today officially on the presence of the first vice president, Mohammad Reza Rahimi.
By launching the 907 kilometers length gas trunk line, gas supply to Iranshahr, as the first city in the province of Sistan o Balochstan, started.
The 56 inches pipeline with 1.7 billion dollars investment has been constructed by relentless efforts of the Iranian manpower and by launching it, the gas needs of the provinces of Hormozgan, Kerman and Sistan o Balochestan will be met.
IGAT-7 starts from South Pars Especial Economic Energy Zone (SPEEEZ) and by crossing provinces of Bushehr, Fars, Kerman and Hormozgan, reaches Iranchahr city in the Sistan o Balochestan province.
