13 oil and gas fields discovered over the last year

TEHRAN 29 August (Shana): During the first year of the second term of Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad presidency, the tenth government in Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, 13 oil and gas fields has been discovered with in situ reserves of 14 billion barrels of oil and 45 trillion cubic feet of gas.

According to a report by Shana, also during the period about 2.2 million barrels of oil have been exported per day with total revenue of 69.1 billion dollars, while during the rule of the Eighth and Ninth Governments oil revenues have stood at 22.1 and 58.5 billion dollars per year respectively.

Concluding development plan of Azadegan oil field with Chinese company, CNPCI, inauguration of Bahregan oil facility, starting drilling in the third phase of Darkhovin oil field, construction of semi submersible platform named Iran Alborz and installing it in the Caspian Sea are among the development plans in upstream sector over the last year.

Aghajari gas injection plan, concluding South Pars gas field phase 11 with CNPC and injecting gas to Aghajari oil field from IGAT-7 are among the other oil and gas projects finalized last year.

Meanwhile development of Yadavaran and Azadegan mega oil fields is underway and it is predicted contracts to develop the other shared oil fields to be finalized in the near future.

In addition, during the ruling of the Tenth Government 600.8 million cubic meters of gas have been produced per day while the figure stands at 358 and 489.2 million cubic meters a day in the Eighth and Ninth Government period.

Launching the phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of the South Pars gas field, implementation parts of the phases 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are among the initiatives of the Eight Government, while phases 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the South Pars gas field plus concluding contracts to develop phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18 have been done by the Ninth Government.

Concluding Golshan and Ferdos oil fields and Kish gas field and all the remaining phases of the South Pars gas field are among the activities of the Tenth Government.

Government Week in Iran, during which the ruling government  explains its achievements or presents its future plans, starts from 24th August each year to commemorate the memory of the former Iranian president Mohammad-Ali Rajaie and his Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar who were martyred in a bomb blast in the Presidential Office on August 30, 1981.
