Minister: Iran Is to Improve Intl Ties

TEHRAN (PIN) – Inaugurating the 14th International Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition, the Iranian Oil Minister declared that holding this exhibition, Islamic Republic of Iran is to improve its regional and international ties in oil industry.

According to PIN, delivering a lecture in the inauguration ceremony of the 14th International Exhibition, Gholam-Hossein Nozari added that holding this event is toward making the way for Iranian oil industry promising future through reliable connection of internal oil experts with international ones.

He continued Iran''s oil industry has an especial position in the national economy of the country, providing for the required budget toward implementing a great number of projects as well as supplying a considerable share of the required energy of the country in different economic sections.

In the oil industry, realizing the objectives of country''s next 20 year plan - toward getting Iran real position concerning technology development, producing a wide variety of petrochemical products, absorbing foreign investment about 30 to 35 billion dollars a year - is of priority, he continued.

Taking a brief look at Iran oil industry performance during the last 30 years, reveal that concerning the imposed economic sanctions relying of internal expertise and potentials, Iran oil industry has been developed greatly, the minister explained.

"Internal contractor’s participation in implementing oil and natural gas huge projects especially oil fields and rigs paved the way for a promising and fruitful future."

Nozari went on to say that considerable increase in crude oil and natural gas production by domestic companies including Iran Central Oilfields Company and Arvandan Oil and Gas Company, considerable rise in gas production (35%), gas condensates increase (67%) in the 4th development plan, implementation of some great projects as construction of semi-floating oil rigs, development of phases 6,7, 8, 9 and 10 of the giant South Pars gas field, construction of 3 supporting floating vessels, natural gas injection into Aghajari gas field, construction of sub-marine oil pipes as well as across the country pipes, all have carried out by Iranian oil and natural gas experts.

The minister further stated that realizing our goals, the country can trust in internal expertise and efforts to absorb the required investment to accelerate development and to deal with international shortages.

He also emphasized on the required rules and regulations in order to direct a considerable share of oil industry income to its development and to realize its long term goals.

Iran’s 14th International Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Exhibition (Iran Oil Show) opened today at Tehran Permanent International Fairground.

The 5-day event will last to 26th of April 2009 having some 453 foreign and 811 domestic companies to display their capabilities.

The event will cover many task forces including consultant engineer groups, spare parts constructors, technical and commercial service provider companies, oil products producers, processing equipments producers, fuel consumption efficiency companies and research and training sector, general contractors, companies active in information technology fields.
