TEHRAN December 5 (Shana): Average regular gasoline consumption stood at 59.657 million liters per day during the week ending on December 3 down 5.1 million liters against a week earlier.

The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) statistics show that total gasoline consumption during the week leading to December 3 reached 417.6 million liters down 35.7 million liters (7.8 percent) week on week.

Meanwhile NIOPDC’s statistics show that average daily gas oil consumption during the mentioned week stood at 105.771 million liters. Total gas oil consumption during the week reached 740.4 million liters up 40.8 (5.7 percent) in comparison to a week earlier.

Total regular gasoline consumption in Tehran amounted to 88.3 million liters during the week ending on December 3 down 5.4 million liters when compared to a week earlier.

Super gasoline consumption reached 21.5 million liters a day down 1.3 million liters in comparison to a week earlier.

Last month Alireza zeighami the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), announced that by launching expanding gasoline production capacity at Abadan Refinery, Shahid Tondgouyan Refinery (Tehran Refinery) and an upgrading plan at Arak Refinery, Iran’s gasoline production capacity would increase by 10 million liters reaching 55 liters a day before the end of this Iranian calendar year (started on March 21 2010).
