TEHRAN Feb 05 (Shana): Gasoline consumption fell by 1.6 percent reaching 55.9 million liters per day during the week ending on 3rd February amid rising gasoil consumption by 22.7 percent during the same period.

Statistics released by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) show Iranian motorists consumed 391.9 million liters of gasoline during the week ending on 3rd February down by 6.4 million liters against a week earlier.

In spite of falling gasoline consumption, gasoil, fuel oil and kerosene consumption went up.

NIOPDC’s statistics show that gasoil consumption reached 710.5 million liters in total up by 131.9 million liters (22.7 percent) week on week with average daily gasoil consumption at 101.5 million liters.   

Fuel oil and kerosene consumption also climbed by 31 and 28 percent respectively. Fuel oil consumption hit 358.6 million liters in total up by 84.9 million liters or 31 percent while kerosene consumption reached 145.8 million liters up by 31.9 million liters or 28 percent when compared with a week earlier.
