Replying reporters’ questions on Thursday on the sidelines of the Fifth International OPEC Seminar in Vienna, Qademi said: Today the country exports gasoline and gasoil and this is an opportunity has been created as the result of imposing sanctions.

Replying a question on Iran’s oil production, the minister noted: Iran is producing oil as much as the past.

‘Before imposing sanctions many foreign oil companies were present in Iranian oil industry and we spent part of our revenue on importing equipments, but today Islamic Republic of Iran has turned into an exporter of oil industry equipments’, Qasemi told reporters.

He added: ‘while we are capable to produce all the oil industry equipments and Iranian contractors are actively involved in implementation of big projects, the question is: Who has lost the market?’

Qasemi also addressed the Fifth International OPEC Seminar in second day of the event. In his address titled Oil and World Economy, the minister said: While world economy needs tranquility and stability on the one hand and adequate and sustainable supply on the other, economic sanctions and military threats have derailed the process.

He added that cooperation on understanding of mutual concerns and achieving constructive interaction and cooperation can pave the way for better understanding of the future of world energy scene, stability and sustainable development.

Qasemi was in Vienna to attend the 161st ministerial meeting of OPEC members which held in the Austrian capital on 14th June. OPEC ministers decided to adhere to the production ceiling of 30 million barrels per day after assessing oil market developments.
