South Pars Phases 15&16 Output to Hit 25 mcm/d

TEHRAN Dec 21 (Shana): Production from phases 15 and 16 of the supergiant South Pars gas field is expected to reach25 mcm/d before March 2014, operator of the phases said.

Javad Malekinia said sour gas production from phases 6,7 and 8 of South Pars is varying between 4 and 9 mcm/d.

He added sour gas production from these phases started more than 40 days ago.

Malekinia said sour gas will be delivered from phases 15 and 16 in the first half of the next calendar year to start on March 21, 2014.

“The drilling operations in Phases 15&16 of South Pars are over and only acidizing and perforation operations are still to be done,” said the official.

Phases 15 and 16 of South Pars are forecasted to produce 50 mcm/d of natural gas and 80,000 b/d of gas condensate.
