South Iran’s Oil Production Hitting 3.5 mb/d

TEHRAN Jan 18 (Shana): Petroleum Ministry plans to raise oil production from the oil fields located in Khozestan province to more than 3.5 million barrels per day, Iranian Minster of Petroleum said.

Accompanied Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, in his provincial visit to Khozestan province, south of the country, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh attended the scheduled meeting of the president with oil industry staff in Darkhovain region where he said accelerating development of shared fields, enhancing recovery rate and improving human resources structure are among the top priorities of Petroleum Ministry.

Iran’s oil revenues from Darkhovain oil region reached 30 billion dollars over the past 10 years, Zanganeh said.

Zanganeh told the meeting: We plan to deploy technology not only to enhance recovery rate but to reduce air pollution.
 
“There are 43 oil and gas fields in south of the country with 94 billion barrels of recoverable oil [equivalent]”, Petroleum Minister concluded.
