Iran, Turkey Discuss Further Trade Relations

TEHRAN Jan 21 (Shana): Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh met Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara yesterday and discussed ways to further boost bilateral trade ties.

“I was sent on a mission to Turkey to talk with Prime Minister and Energy Minister of Turkey before the scheduled Turkish Prime Minister’s visit to Tehran next week”, Zanganeh told IRIB correspondent in Ankara.   

The two sides have decided to boost bilateral trade relations and it is scheduled delegations from both countries to continue negotiations within the next days, Zanagneh said.

He further noted Iran and Turkey will sign trade agreements concurrent with Turkish prime minister’s visit to Tehran next week.

On implementation of Iran-P5+1 nuclear deal, he said, under the agreement, sanctions against petrochemical products will be lifted and it means the revenue from the exports of petrochemical products can be used to buy spare parts and remove obstacles facing the sector.  

Zanganeh aslo met Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz and discussed expansion of cooperation in energy sector.
