Aghajari Gas Injection to Be Ready Before September

TEHRAN Jan 28 (Shana): A project for enhancing the capacity of gas injection into Aghajari field up to two billion cubic feet a day will be ready before September 2014, director for technical affairs of Aghajari Oil and Gas Company said.

“In case of gas supply and the operation of six trains of turbo-compressors in the gas injection station, injection of gas into Aghajari oil field will become operational in the near future,” Kourosh Mohammadi said.

Aghajari field is comprised of Asmari and Bangestan reservoirs.

Bangestan was discovered in 1956 and started the production four years later.

Asmari was discovered in 1936 and started the production in 1939.

Aghajari initially produced 1.1 mb/d of oil, but its output fell as the field grew older.

Aghajari field ais operated by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC). It is located 90 kilometers southeast of Ahvaz in southwestern Iran.
