NIGC Contributes to Subsidy Reform Plan

TEHRAN April 15 (Shana)--National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) is to provide 103 trillion rials to the government to pay monthly cash handouts in return for subsidy cuts, an NIGC official said.

Nasser Ebrahimi said the firm will deposit the sum into state Treasury for the government to implement the second phase of its subsidy regulation plan.

He also said that gas prices have already been raised by 20 to 30 percent.

Ebrahimi said more than 27 billion liters of oil products were used in refineries in the previous year which ended on March 20. He said they cost 20 billion dollars.
