Iran Gas Output to Increase 100mcm/d

TEHRAN April 23 (Shana)--Iran will increase production of natural gas some 100mcm/d as new projects come on-stream in various gas fields of the country.

National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) managing director Rokneddin Javadi said Wednesday that Iran will increase the size of its natural gas output some 100 million cubic meters a day by the end of the current Iranian calendar year which started March 21.  

"This year with implementation of the NIOC's envisaged plans, Iran's natural gas output will leap up," said Javadi citing last year's shortcomings which stemmed from the former administration's policies. 

He also said that the NIOC will launch various storage projects it has at hand at the time being in line with the Supreme Leader's instructions to assist the country to step in the economy of resistance. 

He also noted that as Shourijeh storage project comes on-stream in Khorasan province, as much as 20mcm will be added to the refining and storage capacity of the country.
