Ali Majedi, deputy petroleum minister for international affairs and trading, told Shana that no decision has been taken with regards to Turkey’s gas complaint against Iran.
He said that international arbiters have recommended Iran and Turkey to reach agreement through negotiations.
He held out the possibility of agreement between Tehran and Ankara during Rouhani’s visit in June.
Majedi said Turkey claims that it is paying less for buying gas from Russia than from Iran.
He said Iran is ready to discuss further exports to Turkey as well as the price of gas.
Majedi said the “take-or-pay” clause in Iran-Turkey gas agreement could not be eliminated.
