NITC Working at 95% Capacity

TEHRAN June 24 (Shana)--National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) is working with more than 95 percent of its capacity, its managing-director said.

Ali-Akbar Safaei said NITC is mainly active in exporting crude oil from Iran.
He added that NITC’s capacity is even higher than 13 million tons announced for the world’s biggest oil products transportation company.
“In spite of economic recession in the world, sanctions and lower transportation prices, effective measures have been undertaken for boosting the capacity of this company’s fleet. These measures have placed Iran at the top of countries with oil tankers,” said Safaei.
He said that NITC can meet all the country’s needs.
Iran also sits atop one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves of over 33 trillion cubic meters and, in the near future, the country is set to increase it gas processing and transfer capacity to one billion cubic meters per day from the current level of 600 million cubic meters per day.
