Mohammad Souri said Iran could not export LPG and petrochemical products sufficiently in the past years due to shortage of LPG carriers.
“Now, with the purchase of 12 vessels, it is possible to export these products,” he said.
Souri said until recently Iran had only eight vessels for carrying LPG and petrochemical products.
“We hope that the export of these products will increase although we are still facing shortages,” he said.

LPG, also referred to as simply propane or butane, is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases used as a fuel in heating appliances, cooking equipment, and vehicles.
It is increasingly used as an aerosol propellant and a refrigerant, replacing chlorofluorocarbons in an effort to reduce damage to the ozone layer. When specifically used as a vehicle fuel it is often referred to as autogas.
