NIGC, Gazprom to Team Up for Cooperation

TEHRAN July 14 (Shana)--National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) and Russia’s gas giant Gazprom are to establish a joint working group for broadening cooperation, a deputy petroleum minister said.

Hamid-Reza Araqi, who is also head of NIGC, said the two sides are to cooperate on the supply of equipment, transfer of technology and financing oil and gas projects.
He said NIGC and Gazprom have agreed to broaden their ties throughout meetings held on the sidelines of the World Petroleum Congress recently held in Moscow.
Araqi said NIGC and Gazprom discussed ways of entering international markets.
He said that NIGC and Gazprom are both members of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and the International Gas Union (IGU).
Araqi said Iran and Russia, both containing huge gas reserves, share interests in global markets.
