3-D Seismic Operations in Ramin Oil Field Over

TEHRAN July 16 (Shana)--3-d seismic operations ended in Ramin oil field successfully with the goal of acquiring enough knowledge about its structure as well as getting comprehensive information about its two oil layers Asmari and Bangestan.

National Iranian South Oil Company’s (NISOC) director for geology and technical issues Faraj Naseri Karimvand said the results of 3-D seismic operations will facilitate decision-making on drilling developmental wells in Ramin oil field for enhancing oil recovery as well as knowing more about new oil potentials in the field.
He said seismic operations will provide valuable information for drawing the oil field’s maps and boosting oil production as well.
According to Karimvand 3-d seismic operations was implemented by a domestic company in an 877 square km area surrounded by Ahvaz, Bavi and Shoshtar cities.
Ramin oil field respectively with 4 and 40 km width and length is located northeast of Ahvaz and includes Asmari and Bangestan oil reservoirs.
