Iran to Raise Fuel Storage Capacity

TEHRAN July 17 (Shana)--Iran is to increase its oil products storage capacity by 800 million liters to 13.3 billion liters by March 2015, the head of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said.

Mostafa Kashkouli said the new storage capacity will be achieved with the planned operation of 40 new storage facilities across the country.
He said the largest oil products storage facility, with a capacity of 300 million liters, is located in Mahshahr in southern Iran. This facility is 95 percent completed.
Kashkouli said a 60-million-liter storage facility is under construction in the southern city of Shiraz with 91-percent progress.
Other facilities are located in the northwestern city of Urmia (117 ml, 82%), northeastern city of Birjand (114 ml, 82%) and the western city of Malayer (68 ml, 99%).
Kashkouli said storage facilities in the northern city of Gorgan, northeastern city of Bojnourd and the holy city of Qom are 90 percent completed.
Iran currently has 1,070 fuel storage facilities.
